WHIZard Academy featured in Fox 9 News Story on Summer Education
Fox 9 News ran a story on Monday June 20, 2011, on the benefits of maintaining a competitive edge in education during the summer months. WHIZard Academy for Mathematics & English was highlighted as one of the tutoring centers in the Twin cities that offer one-on-one tutoring in Math, English, Sciences, Study Skills and ACT & SAT Test Preparation.
Several parents of students attending WHIZard Academy gave their reasons for selecting WHIZard Academy over other options. Melanie Lawrence –Smith, who was nominated 2011 teacher of the year in the Richfield School District, stated that she chose WHIZard Academy over other learning centers for its ability to make sense out of High School Algebra to her daughter Maya. When asked if the investment in customized tutoring was worth it she responded with an emphatic "absolutely."
Rob Cabito is an author of several books on the American-Indian experience. Rob mentioned the importance of finding an institution where the tutors are certified to teach and have completed a background check. Colin Cabito has been studying math in his own space at his own pace at WHIZard Academy. Both his confidence and his grades have improved dramatically in the short time he has been at WHIZard Academy.
WHIZard Academy offers year-round tutoring. In the summer many students sign up for the Stay Sharp Programs which are short term summer programs in math or English geared to preparing students for the coming school year. Some students prefer the one to two week Summer Camps which combine Academics and Arts & Crafts taught by a certified professional. WHIZard Academy will customize a study program for all students based on the results of an extensive subject matter evaluation. All study programs follow standards established by the Minnesota Department of Education.
WHIZard Academy for Mathematics & English, based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, specializes in customized tutorial and enrichment programs for students from Kindergarten to College.
